My name is Elaine Scott and I have had quite a varied career. Prior to going into the teaching profession, I was a financial accountant, where I spent a lot of my time involved in the creation of monthly and annual accounts for companies such as Hewlett Packard, Scottish & Newcastle, McKinnon & Clarke and Havelock Europa. I took a career break to have my children, then in 2011, I studied for a PGDE in Primary Education at Dundee University.

I am a GTCS registered Primary Teacher, with 12 years teaching experience in a local school. Recently, I also had the privilege of being seconded for 6 months to a local Special Education School as an ASN teacher, providing children and young people with complex needs, the support they require.

 

Running alongside my work in schools, I have been tutoring for the last 6 years; offering online and in person tuition in all levels of the Primary curriculum (CfE), and Maths up to National 5 level. I have supported university students, working for Theorise Ltd, where I have taught the necessity of learning and applying the necessary study skills to succeed.

My small tuition business was run from my home based office, only offering online tuition in recent years. In August 2024, I opened my tuition centre, which allows me to offer in person tuition.
